Junior Technologist

Monday - Friday (9am to 5pm)

Main Purpose of Job:

To manage day to day administrative duties and ensuring the customer and legal requirements are met in a fast moving, innovative, fun, office environment that maintains the highest levels of integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Working with the manufacturing partners and co-packers to ensure the safety, legality and quality of our finished products. This will include monitoring the factory’s performance, participate in trials, drive continuous improvements etc.
2. Manage the technical supplier and specification database to ensure all product specifications, relevant food safety documents such as HACCP, allergen statements, supplier accreditation and supplier questionnaires are available, signed and in date
3. Issue product specifications when requested by internal stakeholders
4. Management of surveillance testing and interpretation of results
5. Artwork proofing
6. New supplier approval and ongoing supplier validation process
7. Support Customer care manager with the recording and investigation of complaints
8. Support sales team with customer/retailer requests e.g. completion of new line forms
9. Management and reporting of weekly sensory panel
10. Perform other duties and objectives as required from time to time in this challenging and fast moving company

Key Technical Skills/Knowledge/Professional Qualifications Required:

1. Food technology/science or equivalent degree desirable
2. Demonstrate a genuine passion for food combined with a sound knowledge of the consumer market
3. Awareness of HACCP and BRC legislation
4. Allergen training or awareness
5. Demonstrate a genuine passion for food combined with a sound knowledge of the consumer market

Key Personal Skills Required:

1. Must be very organised and self-motivated
2. Excellent IT and administration skills
3. Good accuracy and attention to detail
4. Excellent time management skills
5. Fluent in English, with a second European language desirable
